Format and setup
Handheld or standing clothes steamer?
The format changes where the water sits, how the head is held and how the equipment is stored. It does not tell you on its own how quickly wrinkles will release. Start by imagining a normal session: one garment before leaving, several pieces after laundry or frequent touch-ups in a shared wardrobe.
Handheld: a small head, a hand-held tank
A handheld steamer puts the reservoir and controls near the garment. It can be a practical choice when you want to retrieve the appliance, steam one or two items and store it without setting up a pole. Look at the listed full dimensions, weight and cord rather than assuming that “portable” means travel-safe. A fixed tank cannot be removed for filling like a detachable reservoir, and a small capacity can mean more frequent stops.
Some handhelds combine steam with a heated plate. Others use suction to hold fabric against a surface while you move the tool. These are distinct operating designs: inspect the exact settings and whether the maker supports steam-only operation. A suction model may be designed principally for a vertical garment on a hanger, so its horizontal behavior should not be assumed from a photograph.
Standing: separate reservoir, more equipment around the garment
An upright format often places the water in a floor-standing base and routes steam through a hose to a hand-held head. That setup may suit repeated garments if the model's tank and stated duration fit your sessions. It also requires a stable base, space for a pole, a safe place for a hot head and room to keep the hose from being kinked. Verify wheel, hanger and hose details by model rather than extrapolating from another product in the same brand family.
“Standing” does not necessarily mean a complete garment-care station. Some systems include a board or support surface; others are simply a base, hose and head. If you want to steam a sleeve flat, secure a garment or press a specific edge, confirm the manufacturer documents that arrangement and what pieces are supplied.
Think through reach and storage
Try a simple planning sketch before buying. Note the height of the longest dress or coat, the available wall or closet space, the nearest suitable outlet and where the appliance can cool after use. For a handheld, picture the combined head, handle and cord in the drawer or travel case. For an upright model, include the base, pole, hose and hanger. A product's box dimensions may not be the same as its operating footprint.
On either format, a steamer is an electrical hot-water appliance. Leave room to move the steam head without directing heat toward hands, face, pets or nearby items. Follow the exact manual's filling, start-up, cooling and cleaning steps. The garment care label remains the rule for whether a fabric should be steamed at all.
Use format as a filter, not a ranking
Choose handheld when its direct-control and storage tradeoff matches your routine. Choose standing when the documented reservoir, reach and upright setup are more useful than compact storage. Consider a combination station only after checking each supported arrangement separately. If the source record does not establish tank capacity, voltage, a supplied board or hose reach, the finder should not imply that it does.
The current English library contains 49 individually assessed product/package configurations, including exact model variants and iron-format products whose documented vertical-steam modes qualify for hanging-garment use. It is a source-reviewed comparison set, not a complete census of every model sold. The comparison uses maker-backed differences rather than an arbitrary split between handheld and standing machines. A format match is only a starting point; compare the garment, session duration and instructions before making the final decision.
Apply the format and travel choices to the reviewed models
Handheld-only shortlist
A handheld puts the tank and steam head in the part you hold. That can simplify retrieval and storage compared with a base, pole and hose, but it also means the tool's filled weight and cord remain part of your routine. The current reviewed library has twenty-six product/package entries with at least one documented handheld operating plan; the First Class DA1610U1 and Pro Master X-CEL DW8360U1 add two different iron-format vertical-steam arrangements to the broader set. The First Class folds and documents a 120/240 V selector; Pro Master weighs more and lists a 10.5 oz tank without a usable runtime. Compare each exact model rather than treating compact handhelds as interchangeable.
The current reviewed library has twenty-six product/package entries with at least one documented handheld operating plan; three added SALAV handhelds include adjustable-but-brief HS04, single-setting HS15 and steam/iron HS100, whereas IS900 and SS1500 have a base-and-hose station format and are not handheld matches. Items 3005 and 3000 are mixed upright-plus-handheld packages, and item 3007 contains two separate ESTEAM handhelds rather than one larger-tank steamer. Jiffy's shared base ESTEAM review retains black ESTEAM-1/item 0601, white ESTEAM-W/item 3601 and pink ESTEAM-P/item 1901-3; white ESTEAM-W-1/item 3611 and black ESTEAM-TRAVEL/item 0611 are separate converter bundles. Each converter kit pairs a 120 V ESTEAM with an external step-down converter; neither the base 120 V steamer nor converter-equipped package is one built-in dual-voltage appliance. The new Bundle & Save packages are not single-machine profiles: item 3007 is a two-handheld pack whose title/image say black and white while its description says black and pink; items 3005 and 3000 each combine an upright J-2000-family unit with a separate handheld ESTEAM. The two newly assessed Rowenta iron-format hybrids are materially different: the 1.54 lb foldable First Class DA1610U1 is sold with a travel pouch and a 120/240 V selector, while the 3.31 lb Pro Master X-CEL DW8360U1 is a home iron whose exact page lists a 10.5 oz tank but no usable per-fill time. Both support board-free vertical steaming on a separate hanger; neither is a pole-and-hanger garment-steamer station. The full handheld set also includes AeroSteam Twist and Twist Deluxe, Origin Travel DR1050U1, Pure Force 2-in-1 DR8822U1 Aqua Green, the distinct 3-in-1 DR8855U1 Copper and DR8865U1 Black & Pink, Pure Tex DR9530U1, Pure Pop Blue DR2020U1, Green DR2024U1 and Red Coral DR2022U1, Duo Force JR4031U1, and six materially different Conair designs: GSC24, GS108, SteamStylist GSP1X, GS23X (page SKU GS23L), blue GS38R (page SKU GS38L) and champagne GS59X (page SKU GS59L). The Pure Force versions differ in model code, iron-mode details and listed package; the DR8865U1 page also lists a steaming hook. Pure Tex has a three-pad package and a 6.8 oz tank, while the Pure Pop finishes share one lighter vertical-only configuration. Duo Force is a separate iron-steamer design with a 13.5 oz tank and included horizontal ironing mat. Conair's GSC24 adds a selectable 120/240 V range and listed folding hanger; GS108 adds separate horizontal dry-iron/steam-press modes and four settings; GSP1X has locking plates and a manual-stated 50 mL tank. The six Conair handheld assessments differ in voltage selection, iron/press arrangements and documented tank or time: GS23X and GS38R each state up to 15 minutes, GS38R lists a 7.3 oz tank, and GS59X states up to 20 minutes but does not publish tank volume. These maker statements and design differences do not establish comparative performance.

Upright-only shortlist
Current reviewed-set answer: The upright-only finder now returns twenty-three supported operating plans. The five newly assessed SALAV designs are not one generic upright: GS06 uses a folding swivel hanger, GS18 a wheeled single-setting hanger layout, GS24 a multi-hook hanger, GS45 dual bars, and GS44 a rotatable board. Their exact capacities, time evidence and package details differ. IS900 and SS1500 are separate hose-fed stations, not upright pole-and-hanger machines, even though their vertical plans can be board-free with an appropriate external hanger. An upright machine changes the storage footprint: plan for the base, hose, pole and a safe place for the hot head. Home Steam has an integrated vertical support panel. The factory-refurbished Jiffy J-2S-R is a separate J-2 family base, hose and rod-set configuration; its exact U.S. page specifies 120 V, while the manual also describes separately supplied 230 V J-2 editions. The J-2000 and J-2000i use a base, hose and rod set to support a hanging garment instead; the J-2000i adds four interchangeable heads, including cleaning and carpet attachments. The factory-refurbished J-2000-R is a separate item 0809, fixed at 120 V/NEMA 5-15 with a six-inch plastic head rather than the regular J-2000 page's default stainless face plate. The Pro-Line J-4000 and J-4000i use a larger base, pole, hose and rod arrangement, with selectable heads on the clothing page and four distinct heads in the multipurpose package. Verify each precise model, head and voltage version. Measure the intended storage and working area rather than preferring an upright universally.
The current upright-only finder returns twenty-three product/package entries. Items 3005 and 3000 qualify through their separate J-2000S and J-2000 upright components, but each package also includes an ESTEAM handheld. SALAV's eight upright designs now span the X3, GS66, GS49, GS45, GS44, GS24, GS18 and GS06: X3 has a wheeled base and integrated hanger with a disputed tank claim; GS66 has an adjustable XL board that can stand vertically; GS49 uses dual poles and a hanger; GS45 uses dual bars; GS44 has a rotatable board; GS24 centers a multi-hook hanger; GS18 is a wheeled single-setting design; GS06 uses a folding 360-degree hanger and has a tank-capacity conflict on its exact page. The remaining matches are Home Steam IS3250U1, Steam Board 450 QR1214U1, IXEO Vision QR1811U1, the separate black QR1410U1 and white QR1411U1 IXEO finishes, Pro Style Care IS8440U1, ProStyle IS3440U1, factory-refurbished Jiffy J-2S-R item 08075, Jiffy J-2000 item 12315, factory-refurbished J-2000-R item 0809, J-2000i item 1251-2, and Pro-Line J-4000 and J-4000i. This is not one interchangeable design group. The Steam Board, Vision and QR14XX systems have separate vertical-steam and horizontal-iron positions; Home Steam, Pro Style Care and ProStyle use vertical garment supports; the Jiffy models rely on a base, hose and rod set, but their head package, electrical version and family specifications differ.
In the J-2000 assessment, regular item 12315 initially selects the stainless-steel head, while Pink Series item 1721 (card code J-2000-P) specifies a six-inch plastic head; both share the J-2000 base and vertical garment plan. The J-2000i assessment covers regular item 1251-2 and Pink item 1751-3 (card code J-2000i-P), whose page specifies the same four-head kit. Each exact listing and item number remains visible in the shared model assessment; confirm the head and voltage on the exact offer.

Board-free hanging-garment use
In this finder, “board-free” means the maker documents a hanging-garment arrangement that does not need a separate horizontal ironing board. It does not mean that no support is present: an upright can provide a vertical panel. Nor does it promise ironed creases, universal fabric suitability or hands-free use.
Current reviewed-set answer: Forty-nine reviewed product/package entries have a supported hanging-garment plan that does not require a separate horizontal ironing board. The First Class DA1610U1 and Pro Master X-CEL DW8360U1 also qualify through their separate documented vertical-steam modes for a hanging garment; these remain iron-format handhelds, not standing garment stations. The five new upright additions each qualify through a different hanger arrangement: GS06's folding 360-degree hanger, GS18's swivel hanger, GS24's multi-hook hanger, GS45's multifunction hanger and GS44's rotatable board in its documented vertical use. This does not make their supports, packages or pressing modes interchangeable. The current reviewed product/package set has forty-nine documented hanging-garment plans that do not require a separate horizontal ironing board; bundles match through an individual included appliance, never by adding component capacities or runtimes. The count retains three standalone ESTEAM finishes and three Pure Pop finishes as separate identities, plus exact Jiffy pink listings. The eight SALAV upright arrangements are not a uniform support design: X3 uses a swivel hanger and pole, GS66's XL board can stand vertically, GS49 uses a multifunction hanger and dual poles, GS45 uses dual bars, GS44 has a rotatable board, GS24 has a 360-degree multi-hook hanger, GS18 a swivel hanger and pole, and GS06 a folding 360-degree hanger. Five additional SALAV cards are board-free through their own vertical plans: handheld HS04, HS15 and HS100; and hose-fed base-and-hose stations IS900 and SS1500. IS900 and SS1500 are stations, not handheld-only appliances or upright pole-and-hanger units; SS1500's page lists no supplied hanger, so a suitable separate hanger is needed. GS66 and GS44 therefore include board-like garment support, although their documented vertical plans do not require a separate horizontal ironing board. In the J-2000 family, regular item 12315 defaults to a stainless-steel head while Pink item 1721/J-2000-P specifies the six-inch plastic head; both share the J-2000 base and rod-set garment plan. J-2000i items 1251-2 and Pink 1751-3/J-2000i-P share the documented four-head package, with exact listing identities retained. Factory-refurbished J-2S-R and J-2000-R are separate upright entries: the J-2 family manual documents J-2S-R's rod-set plan, while the exact J-2000-R item 0809 page fixes a 120 V/NEMA 5-15 configuration and a six-inch plastic head; its J-2000 family manual shows the hanging rod without the optional Steamboard. The J-2000-R manual capacity and duration are family figures, not a unique refurbishment performance claim. The standalone ESTEAM and its two converter bundles are handheld vertical plans on a suitable hanger; the converter bundles remain distinct package identities, and their added adapters do not create a horizontal pressing mode. New item 3007 contains two separate ESTEAMs, each with its own 8 oz tank and 15-minute maker claim; title/card/image say black plus white while body copy says black plus pink, so a finish-sensitive buyer should verify. Items 3005 and 3000 each contain two separate board-free plans: a J-2000S or J-2000 upright plus an ESTEAM handheld; their per-unit capacity and duration fields are not added. The six Rowenta upright entries include Steam Board 450 QR1214U1, Vision QR1811U1, separate QR1410U1 and QR1411U1 IXEOs, Pro Style Care IS8440U1 and ProStyle IS3440U1. Home Steam has an integrated vertical panel, while Jiffy J-2S-R, J-2000/J-2000-R/J-2000i and Pro-Line J-4000/J-4000i use a rod set and hose. The Pro-Line pair has a one-gallon tank and separate 120 V / 230 V versions; the J-4000 offers selectable heads, whereas J-4000i is a four-head multipurpose package. The handheld group includes six Conair configurations: GSC24 with its listed folding hanger, GS108 and GSP1X with separately described horizontal press/iron arrangements, GS23X with a creaser but no documented dry-iron mode, blue GS38R with an iron-like steamer plate, and champagne GS59X with a plate and creaser. Their page codes, documented functions and tank/time evidence differ; their vertical steam plans all remain board-free. The other Pure Force, Duo Force, Pure Tex and Pure Pop arrangements likewise keep their documented vertical tasks separate from optional iron or accessory functions.

Current matches include SALAV X3 (a pole and swivel hanger), GS49 (dual poles and hanger) and GS66, whose included XL support board can stand vertically. The latter still uses a board-like garment backing, but its hanging-steam plan does not require a separate horizontal ironing board. This is not a claim of crease-quality ironing. The factory-refurbished J-2S-R is board-free in this narrow sense: the J-2 family manual shows a garment hung from its rod set without a separate horizontal ironing board, while the exact item page identifies the 120 V refurbished configuration and a stainless face-plate head. Its one-gallon / two-hour claims are manufacturer figures, and the page's one-minute readiness statement differs from the manual's two-minute preheat with maximum water. The separate factory-refurbished J-2000-R item 0809 has the J-2000-family hanging-rod plan, but its exact page specifies 120 V/NEMA 5-15 and a six-inch plastic head; the family manual's 96 oz / 90-minute values are published specifications, not a measured result for refurbished stock. Read the separate J-2000-R item 0809 assessment. The Pro-Line J-4000 and J-4000i also use a hanging-garment rod-set routine; verify their different heads and voltage options. Suction-assisted fabric holding
Do not infer suction from “handheld,” a heated plate, an accessory pad or a product image. The two AeroSteam operating plans name both soft and strong suction alongside vertical steaming. Pure Force uses steam/iron functions and, on the 3-in-1 pages, reversible pads; Pure Tex has separate textile-care pads; Pure Pop's pad switches between lint removal and dewrinkling. Conair GS108's plate and attachments, GSP1X's lockable plates and GSC24's hanger do not document both suction settings. The refurbished J-2S-R, regular J-2000, factory-refurbished J-2000-R item 0809, J-2000i and Pro-Line J-4000/J-4000i upright head plans, the handheld ESTEAM finishes and their converter bundles do not document suction-assisted fabric holding. Check the exact operating instructions rather than assuming that a fabric-contact accessory has the same job as suction.
Only the two AeroSteam configurations currently document both soft- and strong-suction settings in one vertical operating plan. The Steam Board 450, IXEO Vision, black and white IXEO QR14XX models, Pro Style Care and ProStyle use upright support or board arrangements, but their exact sources do not list the two requested suction modes. Duo Force, Pure Force, Pure Tex, Pure Pop, all six reviewed Conair models, the factory-refurbished J-2S-R, regular J-2000, factory-refurbished J-2000-R item 0809, J-2000i and Pro-Line J-4000/J-4000i, plus all three reviewed ESTEAM configurations, likewise do not document both modes; Origin Travel and Home Steam do not meet this required-suction filter.

Confirmed dual-voltage travel use
A travel claim should be checked against an exact model page and manual. The Rowenta DR1050U1 and First Class DA1610U1 pages and Conair GSC24 manual state 120/240 V operation; check the exact unit rating, and set a selector where present; the GSC24 selector is underneath the unit. The AeroSteam US pages do not establish dual voltage. The DR88xx/DT88xx instructions describe 120 V / 60 Hz US use for Pure Force, and the shared DR20XX instructions specify a 120 V appliance for all three Pure Pop codes. Home Steam is another 120 V / 60 Hz setup. The exact factory-refurbished J-2S-R item 08075 specifies 120 V/NEMA 5-15; the family manual's separate 230 V model is not proof that this listing supports both voltages. The separate factory-refurbished J-2000-R item 0809 is also listed only as 120 V/NEMA 5-15; the J-2000 family's separate 230 V version does not make this exact refurbished listing dual-voltage. Jiffy offers separate 120 V and 230 V configurations for regular J-2000, J-2000i, Pro-Line J-4000/J-4000i and ESTEAM, not one confirmed dual-voltage appliance. Its ESTEAM converter bundles include an external step-down converter described for a 220–240 V input and 120 V steamer; that accessory is distinct from built-in dual-voltage support. The Pure Tex DR95xx/DT95xx manual says 120 V or 125 V depending on model but does not resolve the voltage for DR9530U1; it does not establish a 120–240 V range. Verify the exact rating label and selector before travel; an included plug adapter is not established for GSC24.
Three handheld configurations in the assessed library have confirmed 120/240 V support: Rowenta Origin Travel DR1050U1, Conair Power Steam GSC24 and Rowenta First Class DA1610U1. First Class uses a local-voltage selector; its exact instructions still require checking the unit rating and setting the selector to match the supply. GSC24 adds a 35-second maker-stated readiness time and a listed folding hanger, while the sources do not publish its per-fill steam time or tank capacity; Origin's exact page states up to four minutes but leaves tank volume unreported. The separate Conair GS23X, GS38R and GS59X pages do not establish a dual-voltage range either, and neither does GS108 or GSP1X. Jiffy's U.S. 120 V ESTEAM and both converter bundles also remain outside the built-in dual-voltage set: a separate 230 V edition and an external converter are not the same appliance rating. These are different evidence profiles, not a measured ranking. In the upright set, the QR18xx, IS84XX and IS34 instructions identify 120 V North American appliances, while the QR1214U1 and QR14XX sources reviewed here do not establish dual-voltage ranges; none of those six units qualifies for a confirmed dual-voltage requirement.
SALAV's help page describes its U.S. units as 110–120 V / 60 Hz, and the X3 page lists 120 V. The reviewed X3, GS66, GS49, GS45, GS44, GS24, GS18 and GS06 records do not establish a single 120/240 V appliance, so their upright format and tank claims do not satisfy the dual-voltage choice. The five SALAV models observed in the separate Hand Held collection likewise do not add a confirmed dual-voltage match: the U.S. FAQ states 110–120 V / 60 Hz for U.S. units, and HS15's “Travel” name is not a dual-voltage specification. HS04, HS100 and IS900 pages do not document 120/240 V support; SS1500's table explicitly lists 120 V. These exact-source limits do not replace checking a unit's rating label. Travel-format interaction at the First Class boundaries: Three handheld configurations in the assessed library have confirmed 120/240 V support: Rowenta Origin Travel DR1050U1, Conair Power Steam GSC24 and Rowenta First Class DA1610U1. At a 2 oz capacity minimum, First Class DA1610U1 is the only handheld dual-voltage match; the other two confirmed-voltage handhelds have unreported tank capacity. At 2.5 oz, the First Class technical-table capacity is below the request, so no match remains. At a 4-minute minimum, First Class DA1610U1 and Origin Travel DR1050U1 are the two confirmed-dual-voltage handheld matches. At a 5-minute minimum, First Class DA1610U1 is the only confirmed-dual-voltage handheld match. At a 10-minute minimum, First Class DA1610U1 is the only confirmed-dual-voltage handheld time match. At an 11-minute minimum, no currently assessed handheld with confirmed dual voltage has a supported runtime that clears the request. DA1610U1's technical table lists 2 oz and 10 minutes, while its FAQ gives about 70 mL / 2.4 oz; the comparison uses the conservative table figures. Why board-free use and suction are separate choices
Board-free use alone currently admits forty-nine reviewed product/package entries, including six Rowenta uprights, eight SALAV uprights, three SALAV handhelds and two SALAV hose-fed steam stations, plus Pro-Line J-4000/J-4000i and two Rowenta iron-format handhelds with separately documented vertical-steam plans. The new SALAV plans differ: HS04 documents High/Low settings and a short five-minute claim; HS15 lists one steam setting and ten minutes; HS100 separates vertical steaming from its ceramic-plate iron routine; IS900 is a compact base-and-hose station with a separate plate mode; SS1500 lists a 1.1 L tank and iron mode but no supplied hanger. IS900 and SS1500 can steam vertically without a horizontal board when used with a suitable external hanger, but neither meets handheld-only or upright pole-and-hanger format. SALAV's GS66 and GS44 include board-like supports that can be used in the documented vertical plans; other upright layouts rely on hangers, poles or hooks. Mixed Jiffy bundles 3005 and 3000 each have an upright plan plus an ESTEAM handheld plan; item 3007 contains two separate handhelds. The three board-style IXEO/Steam Board designs use horizontal ironing only in a separate position. All six Conair handhelds document vertical hanging use: GS108/GSP1X add separate horizontal routines, while GS23X has a creaser, GS38R an iron-like steamer plate and GS59X a plate and creaser; those feature differences do not turn their hanging-steam plans into iron-only arrangements. The white and black Jiffy converter bundles add external electrical accessories to the vertical ESTEAM garment plan, not horizontal pressing or suction. Adding handheld format and suction narrows the candidates: only the two AeroSteam plans document both suction settings in the vertical garment setup. A cleaning pad, reversible lint pad, iron mat or upright support is not suction-assisted fabric holding.
With handheld format, board-free use, and suction all required together, the two AeroSteam versions are the reviewed fits; Conair GSC24, GS108, GSP1X, GS23X, GS38R and GS59X, Duo Force JR4031U1, the three Pure Force configurations, Pure Tex DR9530U1, all three Pure Pop finishes, Origin, regular Jiffy J-2000, refurbished J-2000-R item 0809, J-2000i, and the ESTEAM plans in standalones and bundle items 3007/3005/3000 do not document both suction modes. The mixed bundles' upright plans also lack sourced suction settings.

The upright-plus-board-free operating plans match twenty-three product/package entries. The full set includes all eight SALAV upright designs and item 3005 through its J-2000S component and item 3000 through its J-2000 component; each mixed package also includes an ESTEAM handheld. The other matches are Home Steam, factory-refurbished J-2S-R, the Jiffy J-2000 family trio (including refurbished item 0809), Pro-Line J-4000 and J-4000i, and Rowenta Steam Board 450, IXEO Vision, QR1410U1, QR1411U1, Pro Style Care and ProStyle. The SALAV arrangements differ across hangers, dual poles, vertical boards and rotating supports; they should be compared by exact layout rather than a generic upright label. The Rowenta systems range from a multi-position ironing board to a vertical Steam & Press support; all are upright installations, not compact handhelds. None of the twenty-three upright plans documents both suction settings, so adding the suction requirement removes all twenty-three. The current upright-plus-board-free combination matches twenty-three entries. The two mixed Jiffy packages have a separate upright plan each; the handheld included in each pack is not folded into its capacity or time figure. Find upright board-free models →

In the current assessed set, the upright + board-free + suction choice therefore has no match; this is an evidence-specific shortlist result, not a claim that an unresearched steamer cannot offer it.

Format can change the travel-voltage answer
For handheld plus confirmed dual voltage, Rowenta Origin Travel DR1050U1, Conair GSC24 and Rowenta First Class DA1610U1 provide three supported matches. With upright plus confirmed dual voltage, the current library has no match: Home Steam is a 120 V / 60 Hz configuration, and the Jiffy J-2000 and J-2000i pages plus refurbished J-2000-R item 0809 specify 120 V configurations or separate 120 V and 230 V versions, not one confirmed dual-voltage unit. The DR20XX Pure Pop manual states 120 V; the DR88xx/DT88xx instructions identify 120 V / 60 Hz for Pure Force. Pure Tex's DR95xx/DT95xx manual lists 120 V or 125 V depending on model but does not resolve DR9530U1 or document dual-voltage operation. These are exact-evidence limits, not proof that no other qualifying product exists.
Three handheld configurations in the assessed library have confirmed 120/240 V support: Rowenta Origin Travel DR1050U1, Conair Power Steam GSC24 and Rowenta First Class DA1610U1. All three exact source sets establish a compatible voltage range; set a selector to match the supply and check the unit label. A travel label alone does not settle plug, destination frequency or airline suitability. Newer Conair GS23X, GS38R and GS59X sources do not establish dual-voltage ranges; GS38R's 7.3 oz tank cannot substitute for a voltage specification.

With upright format plus confirmed dual voltage, no model matches. Home Steam is documented at 120 V / 60 Hz, and Jiffy lists separate 120 V and 230 V versions for regular J-2000, J-2000i and Pro-Line models; the exact refurbished J-2000-R item 0809 is a 120 V/NEMA 5-15 listing. None is one verified dual-voltage unit. Among the six additional Rowenta uprights, the QR1811U1, IS8440U1 and IS3440U1 instructions specify 120 V; sources for QR1214U1, QR1410U1 and QR1411U1 do not establish a dual-voltage range. This is an evidence-specific result, not a claim about every steamer on the market.
Adding a five-ounce tank minimum does not create an upright dual-voltage match: QR1811U1, IS8440U1 and IS3440U1 instructions specify 120 V, while QR1214U1, QR1410U1 and QR1411U1 sources do not establish dual-voltage support. There is no upright dual-voltage match at a five-ounce tank minimum. The Jiffy J-2000 family and Pro-Line J-4000/J-4000i have separate 120 V and 230 V unit versions; that does not establish dual voltage in one appliance. Find upright dual-voltage models with at least 5 oz documented →
